My Illamasqua Products (Swatch + Review)

I'm sure most of us who signed the petition to end unjust pricing for make up in Australia were over the moon to receive this in our emails a couple of weeks ago:
I have to say, i am so impressed with Illamasqua's efforts to reduce their prices in Australia.
Honestly, the prices we're asked to pay (for the same product as everywhere else in the world!!) are disgusting. I'm so glad that a brand has finally done something about it and whats more - i'm so glad it was illamasqua because it is one of my favorite brands!
So to celebrate this, i thought i would share with you all the illamasqua products i own, swatch these and do a FOTD using them c: I've reviewed some of these in the past, so if i have, i'll link the posts but if i haven't, i'll just include a brief overview of that product. This will be a long post, please bear with me!
At the moment, i own: Skin Base Foundation, Powder Blushers in Katie, Naked Rose and Hussy, Cream Blusher in Rude, Lipstick in Test, Sheer Lipgloss in Intimacy, and Eyeshadows in Synth and Creep

I'll start off with the Skin Base Foundation. Although this foundation is inspired by BB creams, it's important to remember that at the end of the day, it's still a foundation. It has a thicker consistency than most foundations but once it's blended properly, you don't feel like you're wearing anything. The coverage is up to you, a little goes a long way. A small pea sized amount will give you a light-medium coverage and it is buildable from there. I find that most of the time i don't even need to conceal much after putting this on! But because it's thicker, it can be a little tricky to blend. I like to use my hands then a stippling brush because the heat helps blend the product and leaves me with a healthy glow and flawless complexion. There is no SPF in the foundation which means it's great for photos! This foundation lasts about 6-8 hours on me, after which the oiliness around my t-zone starts to show.
I really like the plastic transparent packaging to this, it's durable and unbreakable. The tiny nozzle allows you to dispense a controlled amount of product. I can see that it'll be hard to squeeze out the rest of the product when it runs low though! I wouldn't recommend this for people with dry skin because it emphasizes any dry patches!

Left to right, top then bottom row: Katie, Naked Rose, Hussy (all powder) and Rude (cream)
Next up are the Illamasqua blushers, I own 3 powder ones and 1 cream one. I've said it before and i'll say it again, their powder blushers are my favorite powder blushers ever!! The product itself is so finely milled that it is not powdery at all, the velveting texture is like butter to the touch!
They are also incredibly pigmented so one dab in the pan with my brush, tap off the excess and it's more than enough. They blend seamlessly leaving the most natural finish, no patchiness whatsoever. Not to mention the powder blushers smell really nice :3

Katie (Powder) + Naked Rose (Powder) swatched heavily and blended out; under natural light and under flash
Katie (a very pale, almost milky pink) is actually my favorite blush ever. I never thought i would love a cool-toned blusher as much as i love this but after the sales assistant used Katie on me and i was instantly smitten. It's such a delicate color.
Naked rose (neutral beige pink) is the perfect 'natural' shade, gives your cheeks the healthiest rosy cheeks c: so subtle but really flattering! (full review here)
Hussy (Powder) + Rude (Cream) swatched heavily and blended out; under natural light and under flash
I really love these two blushers during the summer months, they can look quite intimidating in the pan but when blended out, they give a fun flush of color to my cheeks.
Hussy (bright candy pink), this reminds me of watermelons. The most pigmented blush i own
Rude (warm peach, dewy finish), the color is easily buildable and blendable. It feels lightweight and not greasy at all. I used to have a bit of trouble applying this but now i use my Real Techniques Stippling Brush and it picks up the right amount and goes on perfectly!
I cannot rave about their blushers more, if you can only get one thing from illamasqua, it has to be their powder blushers.

I bought this illamasqua lipstick about 4 months ago and i never actually posted a review on it even though i took photos :P
The finish of this lipstick is entirely matte. The formula isn't the creamiest and definitely leans towards the dry side. That being said, it isn't actually drying on my lips. If your lips are always dry, i wouldn't recommend this but i don't have any issues with this lipstick. At the first swipe, you do get a slight pulling but after you'll get a smooth, even and opaque application. The color lasts a really long time too!
Test is a neutral beigey pink and very easy to wear. Because the color is so natural, i apply it straight from the tube.  It's a great 'my lips but better shade' and ideal for barely there make up. Sometimes i just dab it lightly on my lips, giving it a boost of color.
I actually really like their lipsticks and have my eye on a few other ones in the range c;

  2. Nice look! I especially like your eyes.

I had no idea that cosmetics were so expensive in Australia. So glad to hear a company is trying to change things there. Others may just have to follow suit if they want to earn people's business.
