I don't think i've really shared my manis on here but i really wanted to share this one with you because it's so pretty and i haven't been able to stop staring at my nails since i did them :3
The base color i used was Essie Who is the Boss? Essie formulas are pretty hit and miss, which is such a shame because i love the bottles and the colors. This one was pretty streaky for the first 2 coats, by the 3rd coat it finally evened out but i did a 4th one just to be safe. Apart from the formula, I'm head over heels for the color.
For the glitter topcoat, i used 2 coats of OPI Lights of Emerald City. I fell madly in lust after seeing it in Sleep and Water's post and picked it up right away when i saw it in HK. I found this really tricky to work with because the clear base is quite thick so if you're not careful, it does bubble. You can probably see that in my close up shots, i was too lazy to remove and start again so i just left it. Also I found it difficult to evenly distribute the square glitters because they are a bit sparse and the brush tends to drag them to the tips of the nails.
I apologise for the droopy top coat, my seche vite is starting to dry up but it was the only top coat i had. Anyway, i loved how it turned out and i think Lights of Emerald City would look great with any pastel color :3
What's currently on your nails? Do you like these type of posts?

That is such a pretty combo, Sleep and Water have me lemming so many polishes too! I ended up buying Which is Witch instead of this one as I'm not too patient with my polish, but it sure does look beautiful on you :)
ReplyDeleteOMG Chloe, it is very pretty!! is the glitter topcoat limited edition or part of the permanent range?
ReplyDeleteEssie nail polishes are sometimes hit and miss. I have cute as button and tarte deco and both of them are very streaky, thick and gloopy.. I love some essie nail polishes though, but the quality is not very consistent.
Gorgeous combo! Thanks for the little shoutout :) I agree that the OPI is hard to work with because the clear base is thick and it bubbles easily. Endless patience is required! In the end I just fished out the white squares with a toothpick and used Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in between coats :p I love how you captured the iridescence of the flakes in the OPI - beautiful photos!
ReplyDeleteLovely nail look!! The OPI top coat is so interesting and gorgeous on the nails~~
