Current Manicure: Etude House Ice Scream Nails #PP501 + Lioele Nail Polish PBK803 (Swatch + Microreview)

Today I'm showing you 2 nail polishes that I bought during my short trip to Korea. I knew I was only being sucked in by their adorable packaging so I controlled myself but I kind of wish I got a few more now because the quality is nowhere near as cheap as i thought it would be. In fact, it wasn't bad at all.

For the base, I used Etude House's Ice Cream Nails in #PP501. I didn't pay much attention when I picked this up, I thought it would just be your average lilac but it's actually a lot pinker than i expected. I don't own any similar colors so that was really lucky. The formula is quite creamy and thick (not in a gloopy way), I just have to be careful not to apply too thick a layer. It was already opaque with the first coat but a bit uneven. If i wasn't going to top it off with glitter, I'd probably use a 3rd coat to solidify the color but for this I used 2.
I think this might be the cutest nail polish i own to date. For about $4, I'm really not complaining.  Really tempted to pick up all of them now, they would look SO CUTE in a row on my bedside table.
For the glitter top coat, I used a Lioele PBK803 (my! what creative names these nail polishes have). This is a clear base with small black and white square glitters, hexagonal pink and silver glitters + thin black and white strips. This was quite tricky to apply because all the glitter particles sunk to the bottom and it was hard to pick up some of the bigger pieces. I had to use 3 coats to make it look somewhat evenly distributed.
I topped it off with a layer of Seche Vite. I was worried it wasn't going to dry properly and that it would dent easily because i ended up using so many coats but Seche Vite is a miracle worker and sealed everything in. It kind of looks like i have gel nails now.
Overall I was pleasantly surprised by these nail polishes and their quality. And since the drying process wasn't a nightmare either, it was well worth all the coats and i love how it turned out ^^
When I'm not in Asia, I buy my korean cosmetics on eBay. These nail polishes tend to range in prices starting from $4 depending on the seller.

Do you like Korean Nail Polishes? Which colors/brands are your favorites?

  2. The Etude nail polish is the cutest packaging! I didn't think it would be pigmented, but the colour actually looks really good! Loving the sparkles too - we all need a bit of sparkle every now and then, especially now we're on the count down to Christmas (sort of!)x
